Misaki glanced over at the ring that Usui had proposed to her with. A small smile had appeared on her face.

Later that evening

“Usui, where are we going?” Misaki asked
“It’s a surprise.” Usui replied as they walked along the busy street holding hands.
“Are we going to the maid café?” Misaki questioned.
As they walked passed the shops, many windows displayed signs saying Christmas was only a week away.
“Of course not” Usui stressed in a soft tone.
“Why are the lights are off? Should someone be inside? It is not open?” Misaki argued.
“My!, my!, Misaki is full of questions today.” Usui exclaimed.
Misaki blushed. “I’m sorry, I just feel I should study”
Usui sighed in reply, “The entrance examinations are over. We achieved Cambridge University entrance. It is time to relax, ok?”
Misaki accepted.
As they approached the maid café, Usui stopped and asked Misaki.
“I would like you to close your eyes”
Misaki half-jokingly accused Usui “Why? What are you going to do you perverted alien?”
“Are you really going to call me a perverted alien, I am your future husband” He replied in shock.
“Yes, not until you stop acting like one” Misaki stood her ground.
“Fine, just close your eyes then” Usui insisted. She complied.
Misaki disliked how Usui won many of their arguments. Although relationships occur positives and negatives, she felt that most aspects of their lives were negative. She worked many hours of the day and night. Overall 2nd place status in school did not seem to interest Usui as he was 1st place. She disapproved.
Usui rushed "Just hold on to my jacket please, since you cannot see you must listen to my alluring voice"
"ahh, okay" she could feel her face warm up.
Usui’s plan was going as he hoped.
Misaki heard bells jingle that she was familiar with as Usui opened a door.
“You can open your eyes now, Misa-chan" Usui yelled.
"SURPRISE! MISAKI-CHAN AND GOOD LUCK IN STUDYING ABROAD"
“W-w-what?” Her eyes swelled with tears.
Usui had planned a surprise farewell party for Misaki. Usui gathered all her work colleagues, friends and family. He set up balloons, food and a giant banner that said, “GOOD LUCK IN ENGLAND!”
Misaki was shocked “Thank you very much! Everyone.” she bowed to show her appreciation. Everyone cheered in gratitude for Usui and Misaki’s successful relationship. Although some people were sad to see them leave, they were glad the couple was successful.
The only person that was unhappy was Misaki’s father. When he returned from Japan, he attempted to create a family, but instead established his own family debt.
“Please Misaki, don’t leave” her father begged.
She stared at her father and replied. “I have my tickets and I leave in two weeks time”
Upon acknowledgement of her thoughts, he gave her his best wishes for her journey abroad. Misaki’s father felt ashamed for his efforts. He felt as if he was never a decent father. However he was still proud of his daughter therefore he persisted that she return and visit.
“Thank you father, I will try” She relieved.

Misaki thought that everything was perfect as the night went on. She was with people that love her; they wanted her to do her best. Everything was perfect. As the night went on, each person gave the couple their best wishes as they disappeared into the cold wintery night. The couple left the café for the manager to close up. The couple walked slowly towards Usui’s apartment. Their apartment she corrected herself their home. It is their home now.
Tora Igarashi finally saw Usui and Misaki walking towards Usui’s apartment. He let the window wind down automatically of his limo. His felt his heart ache. He wanted to be the one to hold Misaki’s hand; he wanted to be the one to be able to hold her the way Usui was able to. He felt a wave of jealously and anger takes over his body. He drew up the window; he grabbed the radio to communicate with Japan’s number one assassin.
“Do you see them?” he asked
“Rodger sir” he answered. “How shall I proceed? Over”
“As we agreed on the phone” he replied.
“Master Igarashi, you need to say over, once you finish speaking on the radio so I know you finished speaking. Over”
Tora can feel his rage bubbling like a volcanic that is about to explode.
“As we agreed on the phone…. Over” he said as he gritted his teeth.
“I understand Master Igarashi. Over”
Tora could see Misaki smiling. His heart jumped with glee. Ever since he knew of Misaki’s existence, she intrigued him. He came from a wealthy family; therefore, women always threw themselves on to him. However, Misaki was different.
“Let us go now Cedric” Ordered Tora

Tora heard someone fall to the ground.
“Usui?” he heard Misaki say.
“USUI!” she screamed into the silent night.

The Limo moved towards the Igarashi mansion.
“Of course Master Igarashi”

  1. Hi Helen, Wow!! Was not expecting that ending, poor Misaki. Really liked that piece, it was completely unpredictable and I liked that. I already feel emotionally attached to the characters. Good job!

  2. Holy hell! i cant believe you had usui killed! that was bold, a good writer should never be afraid of being bold :), well done on the sudden turn of events. I really liked the build up the feeling that everything was finally going well then the assassination. I did also laugh out loud when the assassin insisted on Master Igirashi saying over to end his sentence on the phone. nicely done, i find anime or manga a tough one to do right with these word restrictions but i think you did well. Keep up the good work :)
